High School Happenings Lots of great things happening at Sulphur Springs High School. Here are some upcoming dates to remember: This weekend and next week:
Our EOC testing for Algebra 1, Biology, and U.S. History will be on Tuesday May 3rd starting at 8am.
Any student not testing will not be required to arrive until 6th period. If any of those late arriving students wish to eat lunch in the cafeteria they will need to arrive for "c" lunch that day.
Regional UIL Academic Competition Results
Sulphur Springs High School competed in the Region II 5A UIL Academic competition on Saturday, April 23, 2016 at Stephen F. Austin University in Nacogdoches, TX. Results are as follows: Ready Writing: Lydia Burleson placed first and Patricia Parks placed fifth. Computer Science: Trenton Brock placed seventh. Journalism: Steven Payne earned third-place honors in News Writing, while Patricia Parks placed fifth in Editorial Writing. Literary Criticism: Chloe Ross placed second, Patricia Parks placed fourth, Jesse Allen placed sixth, and Carissa Carter placed seventh. The team placed first. Spelling and Vocabulary: Carson McIllwain placed first, Lydia Burleson and Mandy Eckhardt tied for third place, and Chase Charlton placed fifth. The team placed first. Overall, SSHS placed second at the meet. Individuals who placed first, second, or third will advance to the state level of competition as will first-place teams. The State Meet will be held at The University of Texas on May 24-25, 2016. Congratulations and good luck to our UIL Academic competitors!
